YOUR CONTROLS
Select a piece and choose a legal destination. Drag the scene to explore the board and scroll to zoom. Use the match controls for Undo, New game, and play mode.
Meet the pieces
The lion is the king, tiger the queen, elephant the rook, horse the knight, camel the bishop, and wolf the pawn. Use the piece information panel if the animal shape makes a role unfamiliar. Remember the role first, then read its legal moves on the board.
Movement at a glance
Rooks move along ranks and files; bishops move diagonally; queens combine those directions. Knights move in an L and can jump over intervening pieces. Kings move one square, while pawns advance forward and capture diagonally. A move may not leave your own king in check.
Play the position
Develop pieces toward useful squares and protect the king before chasing an isolated capture. An animal animation does not change a piece’s value or movement. Before choosing a destination, check what your opponent could capture on their next turn.
Choose a match
Challenge the Guardian computer or select two players on the same device. This chess page does not create online rooms. Use Undo to study a different continuation during casual practice, and New game when you want to reset the position.
Adjust the atmosphere
The woodland scene includes visual effects and optional animal audio. Use the available quality and sound controls if your device struggles or you prefer a quieter game. The sound credits are linked from the game page.
