THE PEOPLE AND TOOLS BEHIND PLAY

Credits & licenses

HeyloBuddy combines its game interfaces with photographs, recordings, open-source software, and word lists. These materials retain their creators’ rights and license terms.

City Circuit photographs

City Circuit uses photographs of places in Omaha, Chicago, and New York. The photo credits identify each image, its photographer, its source page, and its license. Images have been resized and converted to WebP for the game. Any share-alike adaptations remain subject to the license linked with that image.

Living Chess animal recordings

The lion, elephant, horse, and camel recordings come from Wildfire Games’ 0 A.D. and use the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. The tiger recording is credited to craigsmith under CC0; the wolf recording is from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in the public domain. The sound credits link to the sources and explain the trimming, volume balancing, and fades applied to the recordings.

Word-game dictionary

The five-letter dictionary uses lowercase entries extracted from an English Hunspell dictionary. Its source notices include SCOWL and the underlying word-list contributors. The game’s answer selection is curated separately. Read the dictionary attribution and license notices.

Game software

Several 3D games use Three.js. Its MIT license is included here; the separately bundled Living Chess version keeps its own Three.js notice. Living Chess also includes chess.js; its license and copyright notice remain available.

Independent games

HeyloBuddy is independently operated by Amruth. Names of familiar games describe the kind of play offered here and do not imply affiliation with or endorsement by another game publisher. Traditional game rules and third-party materials are not claimed as HeyloBuddy’s exclusive property. Our game guides explain the specific rules implemented on this site.
