heyloTHE HEYLOBUDDY PLAYBOOK
QuizzlyRules, tips & a good first game.
Build a quiz for the people you know. A host supplies the questions, friends answer privately, and everyone sees the reveal together.
YOUR CONTROLS
Use the host setup to enter questions. Players join with the room code, type their answers privately, and submit them together from their own device.
Write a quiz worth playing
Give each question a clear expected answer. Avoid questions with several defensible answers unless your wording distinguishes them. A question about a specific year should name that year so the answer does not change silently over time.
Host the room
Create your quiz, share the room code, and wait for your group to join. Explain how you will handle a disputed answer before the first reveal. Keep the host tab open while running the quiz, and allow players time to read before moving on.
Scoring and reveals
Players submit their typed answers privately. Once everyone has submitted, the host reveals the answers and enters the answer key to validate scores. A correct answer earns 10 points, so three correct answers contribute 30. Submitting locks your answers; check your spelling before you send them. The host facilitates rather than competing as an answering player.
Guest play and saved history
Players can take part as guests. Optional account sign-in supports saved Quizzly score history. The account page distinguishes quizzes played from quizzes hosted and provides profile and deletion controls. Guest results are not automatically a permanent account history.
Make it a friendly competition
Mix easy opening questions with harder ones later. Read names and numbers aloud if you are playing over a call. Avoid including private information about other people in questions, since everyone who joins the room may see that content.
A couple of good questions
Do I have to sign in to play?
Guest play is available. Sign in if you want the account features for saved Quizzly history.
Who supplies the questions?
The host creates the quiz. This lets your group use its own topic and difficulty.
