THE HEYLOBUDDY PLAYBOOK
The 100Rules, tips & a good first game.
A number hunt where spotting the target quickly matters more than arithmetic. Scan a shuffled board containing every number from 1 to 100, then tap the number shown above it.
YOUR CONTROLS
Tap or click the target number. On a small screen, use the dedicated mobile web app for a larger, focused play area.
Choose your challenge
Beat the Clock gives you 30 seconds for each target. A correct find banks the seconds left and advances to the next round. Chase the Time is a different challenge: find all 100 targets against a running stopwatch. There is no time limit. Free-For-All Chaos puts friends on the same board in an online room.
A scoring example
If you find the target with 18 seconds remaining in Beat the Clock, those remaining seconds contribute to your score. A wrong tap does not deduct points. In Chaos, the first correct tap received by the server wins the round; tapping the same number a moment later does not also score. Network delay can affect which tap arrives first.
Start a room
Choose Free-For-All Chaos, enter a display name, create a room, and share its code. Everyone should join before the host starts. Rooms support up to 20 players. Wait for the shared countdown before tapping; the host advances online rounds. A short notification names the finder after a successful round.
Find a rhythm
Scan in small sections instead of repeatedly jumping between opposite corners. Read the target again before tapping similar-looking numbers such as 16 and 61. For a group, try a short match first so everyone can check that their board loads before starting a longer one.
Progress and connection
Online play needs an internet connection. Keep the same browser and room link if a connection drops, and use Retry connection when shown. Opening another browser does not carry over your room identity. In the original web Chase mode, leaving the page does not pause the stopwatch. The mobile app has separate local solo progress and pause controls.
A couple of good questions
Can I play offline?
The mobile web app can play its solo modes offline after its first successful load. Online rooms and public leaderboard requests still need a connection.
Is a leaderboard entry automatic?
The original web Chase mode asks whether you want to publish your display name and time. You can skip. Mobile solo bests stay on your device.
